Statement
We are constantly targeted by messages which explicitly tell us what to do: who to vote for, what to buy, how not to drive.
As a result we tend to dismiss anything that delivers a concise message. My work presents the viewer with a situation rather than signification. I prefer to present the audience with an uncanny combination that sets a mood somewhere in between familiar and new. Objects are simultaneously present and absent, surface and content create intriguing combinations. The spectator is in charge of applying their own opinions and preconceptions to digest the work.
