Wall Work:
The following 8 images show Wall Work. It represents the artist's vision for a piece that literally engages the wall in a conversation about contemporary human perception of identity through consumption in the Western world. Mass produced items arguably have societal connotations and are experienced in symbolic an instinctively fetishized manner.
The artist presents a composition that requires to be assembled by the client, in terms of actual installation, but also on a more personal level as the client is encouraged to select the amount and character of the compositional units. The work aims to take omnipresent commodities out of context. To reclaim their physicality and allow the viewer the ability to see them in visual terms.
Four interlocking models have been created. Each model is created using consumer objects. These consumer objects served to create compositions that are relevant only in visual terms. When assembled and incorporated into the wall they are void of individual status and become a visual unit, allowing for an objective and independent visual assimilation by the viewer.
